We have visited the exposition in the Gallo-Romanmuseum in Sint Truiden in Belgium. Very impressive and moving.

Excellent website. I love reading anything about ancient discoveries, and this site did not disappoint me. Very informative, and great pictures as well. Will be looking forward to getting the newsletters.

Although I have never been to Sagalossos site , I have just visited the exhibition. Such a great setting and carefully chosen information. I would definitely like to see the site as well.

Nikki Isik

We first visited the site as Sagalassos in 2008 and were amazed at the fantastic ruins we were able to see, and imagine what else was buried under the ground we walked on.
This year we returned and were taken aback at the amount that had been recovered. We never imagined so much would be discovered and are now looking forward to visiting again!
Walking around the ruins makes you want to get a trowel out and help dig!!
Fantastic!

I am an archaeologist from Israel. I would like to inspect your black-gloss Hellenistic pottery to see if some of it reached my site at Kanaf. See The New Encyc. of Archaeological Excavations in the Holy Land, s.v. Horvat Kanaf.
I intend to visit S. in the second half of February 2012, coming from the Agora of Athens.
Please contact me for my paper on the subject and further details.

Sagalassos is one of the most impressive and intriguing sites I have ever visited. I have been there twice--the first time in 2002 when I led a small group from Western Illinois University (where I spent 33 years),ccna the second time in Sept. 2008 when I led a group from Blacksburg VA (where I now live and teach as adjunct at Virginia Tech). I'm planning a return in perhaps 2010. The site is spectacularly located, of course, and all members of my tour group loved the stop

Sarah

Hallo,

i am longing to visit sagalassos but before going there i am browsing the internet to know more there is one site built by AXELL which seems to be intersting but unfortunately it makes my pc bug ...what will be your best advice to overcome the problem best regards

I heard prof. Waelkens on the radio today (Klara) and I thank him wholeheartedly for everything he has done (so far) for Sagalassos and indirectly (or shall I say directly:) for my country and for archeology.
It's kind of peculiar that almost at the same time frame (1985) he fall in love in Turkey (with Sagalassos) and I in Belgium (mine is charnel, though;)
Well, he has a City from his relation; I have tree children. Secretly, I had always a wish that someday at least one of them would want to become archeologist and work with him. Until now I did not have luck, but who knows!
My thanks also to all of the team who contribute to the success of this project.
